Hosono 'Harry' Haruomi 細野晴臣 - Tropical Dandy

2nd Solo Album
Released: 1975.06.25

The cover prompts me to recollect Procol Harum's A Salty Dog, while the seagull sounds of the last track has a strong reflection to the start up of that title track.

Hosono's cover is said to be inspired by (John) Player's Navy Cut

where one of many variations is shown and where its influence on Harum's A Salty Dog is quite clear. The Titanic - looking vessel on Hosono's cover, of course, has much significance.

Tracks
01 - CHATTANOOGA CHOO CHOO
02 - HURRICANE DOROTHY
03 - 絹街道
04 - 熱帯夜
05 - 北京DUCK
06 - 漂流記
07 - HONEY MOON

09 - 三時の子守唄 (Instrumental)

  1. Thanks for this! I've been looking for some solo Hosono for ages. If you're inclined to put more up, I'd be ever so grateful...

  3. Thanks a lot for this post! Hope your business trip going over well.

As a side note, I found the soundtrack to an obscure anime film "Night on the Galactic Railroad" a few years back that Hosono composed. I've been a little reluctant to post things that aren't my original files but their blog has been down for quite a while and I thought I'd post it when I get the chance to keep the file alive. It's all instrumentals but I'm sure you'd give it a listen.

Hope work isn't stressing you out too much and looking forward a post from you in the near future.
