Ah, my favourite Momoe - by that I mean my favourite Momoe is always the one I am currently listening to. Thank you again. To answer your earlier question - what is getting me through lockdown? Well, a mellow selection of Nana Okada (70's Nana obv.), Ruriko Asaoka, Junko Ohashi and the wonderful Junko Hirotani who sadly died at the start of the year. Non-Japan-wise I'm grooving to Patrice Rushen (always), Steely Dan, John Martyn and Joyce (my favourite Brazilian singer). Do you know any of these guys? Keep the Momoe flowing please (esp. later period). Thank you again!
ReplyDeleteSteely Dan is always good - The album Aja is as good as it gets - with Steven Gadd and Larry Carlton (esp in Kid Charlemagne) on the title track. Unfortunately I have listened to Patrice Rushen or Joyce - but now is the time to find out about them. Obada Nana (70s) is someone whose music I must have somewhere - I need to find them (I do have the AKB48 with the other Okada Nana - inherited about 5 CDs some time back).
DeleteOther non-Japanese that I am going through are Cream, Allman Bros, Doors, The Tubes (great West Coast band), Chicago, BST, The Doors, Love, Joplin, Hendrix - I am a 70s rock kinda guy - boy am I old.
